7 Refreshing Summer Drinks
The summer season requires lot of drinks to fulfill the body’s quenching thirst and dehydration. This is why we opt for making fruit juices and refreshing drinks to keep ourself full of energy.

1. Cucumber Lemonade
Sliced Cucumber – ½ cup
Lemon – 1
Sugar – to taste
Slice the cucumber and take a puree of it. Add lemon juice to the cucumber puree. Add some sugar or honey to get some sweet flavor. This refreshing drink can get rid of the heat, as cucumber and lemon is a perfect combo for scotching summer.
2. Basil-mint Lemonade
Fresh Basil Leaves – 10
Mint leaves – 4
Cucumber – ¼ cup
Lemon juice – 1 ½ cups
Orange Wedge – 1
Combine all the ingredients together including the basil leaves, mint leaves, lemon juice, orange wedge and diced cucumber. Blend it in a mixer with ice. Serve chilled. The refreshing nature of the mint leaves and basil can make the summer heat subside a little.
3. Guava Green Tea:
Guava Juice – ½ cup
Green tea – ½ cup
Lemon
First, make guava juice with ripe guavas. Chop them to small pieces and using a blender, get a smoothie consistency. Now strain the seed grits with a strainer. Secondly, brew green tea at home with the tea bags and keep aside until it cools down. Pour equal parts of guava juice along with the green tea. Add pieces of ice over it. You can also add a pinch of lemon to get a tangy taste.
4. Pomegranate juice
Pomegranate Juice – ½ cup
Water – ½ cup
Lemon wedge – 1
Ice – as required
This is indeed a quick recipe and takes less than 2 minutes to do. Add Pomegranate to a blender and take out the juice. Now add it with equal amount of water and squeeze the lemon wedge to it. Add ice and serve chilled. Pomegranate is said to be one of the nature’s best super foods. This juice gives a lot of energy and so can be a great alternative to artificial sodas giving a lesser calorie.
5. Citrus Sports Drink:
Water – 1 cup
Honey – 2 tbsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Orange Juice – 1 tbsp
Lemon – 1
Boil half a cup of water and add honey and salt to it. Stir it and let it cool down aside. Now squeeze the orange and lemon separately. To the remaining water, add the honey mixed water, along with the orange juice and lemon juice. Stir well and serve after refrigerating. This juice can indeed give you lots of energy during the summer time workout and activities.
6. Watermelon juice
Chopped seedless watermelon – ½ cups
Pomegranate juice – ½ cup
Lemon – ½
Mint leaves – 1
Add all the ingredients together in a blender and blend them until it comes out to a smooth consistency. Add ice and garnish it with mint leaves. This cooler drink is a best choice for summer time, to keep dehydration at bay.
7. Banakaaram
Tamarind Paste – ½ cup
Palm Jaggery – ½ cup
Water – 1 ½ cup
Rose petals
First, melt the Palm jaggery in water and strain out the dirt. Mix it to the tamarind paste. Add water to it. Put few rose petals to the drink and serve.
