Teeth Whitening at Home
Your smile is the first thing that catches the attention. That is why we greet a person with a smile first and then continue with hand gestures. However, not all of us are confident in displaying an attractive smile. There could be various reasons as well but the obvious thing would be our teeth. Having a yellowish teeth can be a turn off. As a result, the tooth enamel breaks down, revealing the underneath yellowish dentin.
Lemon Juice and Baking Soda
Lemon Juice is an excellent bleaching agent and so is Baking Soda too. Do not get shocked with the Baking Soda ingredient. It is actually the edible Sodium bicarbonate which has mild abrasive properties. This will gently help in scrubbing your teeth surface and return the whiter shade. Moreover, it helps in balancing the pH level in our mouth, due to the acidic food intake.
Baking soda – 2-3 tsp
Lemon juice or water – as required
Directions to Do
- Mix the baking soda and fresh lemon juice to form a paste.
- If you feel your teeth is too sensitive to acidic nature, you can alternatively use water as the base.
- Wipe your teeth with a paper towel.
- Use a toothbrush to gently scrub this paste on the teeth.
- Leave it on for 1 minute, and then rinse off with water. Moreover, if you use water for making the mixture, you can leave the paste on teeth for 3 minutes.
These natural alternatives mentioned below are effective when done regularly. But make sure to have some patience, and surely you will see the results. These home remedies does help in whitening your teeth by restoring the whiteness of your enamel. But always keep in mind that apart from doing remedies for teeth whitening at home, you have to first practice good oral hygiene to strengthen the enamel from breaking down. Prevention is worth than Cure.
