What is a Team Duathlon?
Team Duathlon is an athletic event that consists of a team of two persons – running and cycling alternatively. It is a variation from regular duathlons. In this Team Duathlon, both runner and cycler undertake the event simultaneously as a team. Usually, both the cycler and the runner have to be together all the way down the event but can exchange their tasks if preferred. The challenge in this Duathlon event is that the team has to exchange between running and cycling with smooth coordination to minimize the start-to-end timing.
Team Duathlon 2017 – Surat
The Team Duathlon 2017 event is organized by Lifecycling Green. It includes both running and cycling as a team. In this event, every team has to run a distance of 5 km and cycle a distance of 10 km. It is actually a relay event where a wearable band is handed over to the cyclist by the runner upon completion of the specified distance. The winner is chosen as the team which completes the entire race in shortest overall time.
Monetary team prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd are awarded for the participants, 10000, 5000, and 3000 respectively. Apart from the monetary compensation, participants in all categories will be felicitated with medals. Check out below for the rules and regulations of this Team Duathlon Event.
- Each team will have 2 members – one for cycling and other for running. No age or gender limitations.
- The relay starts with running and the team’s cyclist who crosses the finish line first is considered the winner.
- Participants must register as a team and individual applications are not allowed.
- It is necessary for the cyclist to wear a helmet during the race.
- Aero bar is allowed but personal piloting is not allowed.
- Whoever rides very close to the other team or any other motor vehicles will be disqualified.
- Misbehaving with other cyclists, volunteers, or promoters is strictly prohibited and those teams indulging in it will be disqualified.

Registering for Team Duathlon 2017 event can be made through the goeventz portal.
