Natural Hair Conditioning Ingredients

We know that hair conditioning is an important part of hair care routine. That too, for people with dry, damaged, and frizzy hair, it is a must. But most of us are skeptical about the use of natural products for hair conditioning. In our earlier post, we had a DIY homemade hair conditioner.  Do you know there are so many natural ingredients that make up for hair conditioning? Here are few of the natural hair conditioning ingredients that are worth trying out.

Egg white

Eggs are rich in proteins and benefit as an excellent hair conditioner. Even if you are repulsive to egg smell, using the whites of the egg does not smell bad. You can mix it with any oil or even use it by itself. It helps in making your hair smoother.

You can try egg conditioner with yoghurt or bananas. Leave it off for 15-30 minutes will get you the right benefits.

Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise is a by-product of egg white. It can be store purchased easily. You can just take few spoons of mayonnaise and apply it along with egg. It will be an added benefit.

Mayonnaise has to be applied on damp hair and should be rinsed after 15-30 minutes. This is a deep-conditioning treatment when mixed with honey and olive oil.

Honey

Honey is yet another easy home conditioner. Not many people are aware of it and feel bad using honey on hair. It might be sticky, though, but the results are amazing. There is a myth about honey turning your hair grey; but trust me, debunk the myth. Natural organic Honey does wonders to your hair. You will get a shinier and glossy hair afterwards. Honey can be mixed with olive oil for added benefit. But if you have oily hair, skip the oil or use it in lesser amounts.

Yoghurt

Yoghurt and milk also makes your hair softer. You can mix yoghurt with any other natural conditioner to get added benefits. Choose your hair type and make sure to use the right quantities to get the benefits.

Mixing yoghurt with egg provides best conditioning. You can also mix it with olive oil or coconut oil for dry, damaged hair strands. For oily hair, you can try mixing yoghurt with coconut milk or avocado. Milk can be mixed with bananas for restoring the hair moisture.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil seems to be an all-rounder when it comes to beauty. You can use it for hair conditioning lavishly. Either by adding it to your hair packs or by using it overnight, it can give you amazing results. Additionally, you can try keeping coconut oil in refrigerator for some time and when it gets frozen, whip it well to get a whipped cream like consistency. This can be directly applied on hair. For cold countries, you will have to melt coconut oil. It turns your hair soft and smooth. Shampoo well after using coconut oil or else your hair will feel greasy.

Coconut milk

Like coconut oil, coconut milk also has amazing benefit. You can take coconut milk and just apply it directly on your hair. It does deep conditioning for your hair. I prefer taking coconut milk in a spray bottle and sprinkle it all over your hair. Concentrate on your roots to get absorbed faster. A 15-minute treatment of this really conditions your hair well.

Bananas

Bananas are known as the natural hair softener. It holds amazing benefits that condition and smoothen your hair. You can use bananas all by it. Nothing else needed. However, if you prefer more, here is a simple hair conditioner.

Mash a banana and mix it with coconut oil and honey for getting a paste like consistency. Applying this on hair does do the trick.

Avocado

Similar to bananas, avocados are great for hair. It contains rich fatty acids and helps your hair to become shinier and smoother. You can mix avocado with olive oil and water to form a paste. Shampoo your hair as usual after applying it. Letting the mixture sink into your hair for 20 minutes make your hair gorgeous.

Shea butter

Shea butter is amazing for hair care. It helps in alleviating split ends and makes your hair beautiful. Just mix melted Shea butter with vitamin E oil to get the right benefits. You can also add any essential oil if preferred. Applying this mixture on hair for 30 minutes can let you get super smooth hair. You can also store it and use it later.

Apple cider vinegar

Rinsing your hair with apple cider vinegar also makes a great difference. It balances the hair pH level and smoothens the cuticles effectively. Add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to one cup of water. You can transfer it to a spray bottle and sprinkle it in your post-wash session as well. Massaging with this diluted apple cider vinegar will let you get smoother conditioned hair.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is an excellent natural ingredient for hair care. You can just give your hair a post hair treatment with aloe Vera. The gel has soothing properties and so reduces scalp problems and hair fall as well.

Just mix aloe Vera gel with sesame seed oil in equal quantities. Applying this on hair will let your hair turn out smooth and soft. You can repeat this every week for getting the benefits.

Beer or Vodka

Beer is an effective hair conditioner. Just dilute beer with water and rinse your hair with this mixture. It will make your hair soft in minutes.

I have personally tried many of these above natural hair conditioning ingredients for my hair care routine. Hope you would also benefit with these. Try out and let us know your views.
