How to cure Prickly Heat with Home Remedies

When summer is getting wild, it has its toll on our skin. Prickly heat rashes are caused by excessive sweating that blocks the sweat glands and bursts it open, causing irritation. Bacterial infections can also cause prickly heat. It is also known commonly as heat rash or sweat rash while the medical terms describe this condition as miliaria. Fuller’s earth (multani mitti)

Ingredients

Fuller’s earth – 5 tbsp

Rose water – 3 tbsp

Direction to use
  • Take fuller’s earth in a bowl and add some rose water into it.
  • Mix well to form a thick paste consistency.
  • Apply this mixture on the affected areas of your body.
  • Allow it to dry for 20 minutes and then wash it off using cold water.
  • Try this method once in a week.

Baking soda

Ingredients

Baking soda – 1 tsp

Water – 1 cup (cold)

Direction to use
  • Take baking soda in a bowl and add one cup of cold water into it.
  • Now take a clean washcloth and soak it into the solution.
  • Squeeze out the excess water from it.
  • Now put this washcloth on your affected area.
  • Wait for five to ten minutes then take out the cloth.
  • Repeat this process four or five times a day for a week.

Sandalwood powder

Ingredients

Sandalwood powder – 2 tbsp

Coriander powder – 2 tbsp

Rose water – as required

Direction to use
  • Take sandalwood powder in a bowl and equal amount of coriander powder into it.
  • Now add enough rose water to form a fine paste.
  • Apply this paste on the affected area of your body.
  • Allow it to dry for about 20 minutes.
  • Wash it off using cold water and pat dry your skin.
  • Try this process twice daily for a week.
  • Alternatively you can just mix sandalwood powder and rosewater and apply this paste as mention above.
  • You can also use sandalwood powder as like talcum powder.

Raw mangos

Ingredients

Raw mangos – 2

Water – 2 cup

Rock salt – as required

Sugar – as required

Direction to use
  • Take two fresh washed raw mangos and boil them in two cups of water.
  • Boil the mangos until it become soft and tender.
  • Allow it to cool down and then remove the mangos from the water.
  • Now squeeze out the pulp from it.
  • Take cold water and add the pulp into it.
  • Add some rock salt and sugar according to your taste.
  • Drink this juice once or twice daily for a week.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is one of the best remedy for prickly rash. It has anti-irritating, anti-inflammatory and soothing properties which helps to give instant relief from itching and inflammation caused by prickly heat.

  • Take one cup of finely ground oatmeal powder and add it into a bathtub filled with cool water.
  • Mix well, until the color of water changes.
  • Now soak your body in this bathtub for about 20 minutes.
  • Then pat dry your body with the help of towel.
  • Repeat this process twice daily for a week to get better relief from prickly heat.

Gram flour

Gram flour helps to get relief from inflammation caused by prickly heat. It also removes dead skin cells by absorbing extra moisture from your skin.

  • Take three tablespoons of gram flour in a bowl and add some water into it to make a fine paste.
  • Apply this paste on your affected area.
  • Allow it to dry for about 15 minutes and wash it off using cold water.
  • Repeat this process once daily for about a week.

Cold treatment

  • Ice cubes treatment is the instant remedy to get immediate relief from prickling sensation and inflammation .
  • To prevent rashes spreading further take some ice cubes in a dishcloth.
  • Now press this on the affected areas of your body for about 10 minutes at a time.
  • Repeat this process for every four hours for three days to get better relief from prickly heat.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera has an anti-inflammatory and cooling property which helps to treat inflammation caused by prickly heat.

  • Take the aloe vera gel directly from an aloe vera leaf.
  • Rub this gel on your affected areas.
  • Allow it to rest for about 20 minutes and then wash it off cold water.
  • Repeat this process at least two times a day for about a week.
